Making an appointment If you are looking to become a new client, we ask that you call to schedule that first appointment. We need to collect some data from you, including your insurance information, so we can get you set up in our system. We use an Electronic Medical Records system that will send you reminders about your appointments and has a patient portal to access documents and communicate with us. We ask that you give us an email which you look at regularly.
Insurance We take Vermont Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont, MVP and Cigna. If you have a different insurer, you may want to check with them to determine if they have any restrictions on Naturopathic Physicians who use conventional CPT coding to bill. We never bill Medicare since we are not acknowledged federally. It may be possible to use your secondary insurance if it is one of the above companies. If you do not have insurance or prefer to pay cash, the new patient appointment is $275.
Appointment time We take 60-90 minutes for our new patient appointments. Since these are significantly longer than regular follow ups, we will call you and send you reminders. Dr. Jen currently has a cap on the number of new patients she can see per week, so that she can provide care to her existing patient base. Dr. John is newer to the area and we can normally get you in to see him within two weeks depending on your schedule. Dr. Jen and Dr. John refer back and forth as needed, and collaborate on cases. If you've heard about Dr. Jen, you can expect the same great level of care from Dr. John (plus he has some skills Dr. Jen doesn't!)
Getting here We are located on College Street between South Union and South Willard. The building is a salmon colored brick two story on the south side of the street and is marked in front as 301. We are in the back next to the parking lot which you are welcome to park in when space is available. Half of our office is on the first floor, including reception, Dr. Jen's office and the phlebotomy lab operated by Mercy Diagnostics. If you have mobility concerns, we can insure that you are seen in the first floor office. Our building was erected in 1820 and is one of the oldest buildings in Burlington!
